Declan the Hero is off

13.48 Declan the Hero is off to lunch with David in the village pub after a meeting with David & Venal Leader. We are discussing various particulars: the next Crimson studio album, remastering the catalogue & artwork, and the position with Pony Canyon & the catalogue in Japan in respect of the Fripp / Virgin out-of-court settlement. Record companies are not like Declan, but then Declan is not properly a record company man.

Also this morning Vic Garbarini telephoned from his home in Nashville, either up very early or very late. Vic, the editor of Musician magazine in its glory years, is the only writer I know who understands & can articulate the creative process better than nearly every musician I've ever known. Guitar World is doing a cover story on the ten most important albums of 1969 & have asked Vic to write a piece on ITCOTCK. We are speaking later today on this.
